Getting food from our pantry

The Isle of Wight Community Food Pantry operates as a dignity-centered, non- profit resource providing fresh produce, pantry staples, and supportive services to individuals, military, handicapped and families facing food insecurities.

*Access and Eligibility: Services are open to residents of Isle of Wight and nearby communities with no income verification or lengthy paperwork.

*Food Distribution: The pantry provides balanced meals and groceries through regular distributions, mobile free food events, and specific children's weekend meal programs referred to as our Backpacks of Love project.

*Sourcing: Food: Food and operational funding are supplied through public donations, regional grants, local corporate contributions, and strategic parnership  with the regional Southeaster Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and Eastern shore. Every four months we partner with Food Lion Feeds to expand  our food sourcing capabilities , rescueing and distributing fresh meals to include fresh produce and vegetables to ensure our neighbors experience the dignity they deserve.

What types of food do we offer?

Our food offerings vary each month, depending on the generous donations we receive. We typically provide a mix of non-perishable goods and fresh produce, thanks to our valuable partnerships with Food Lion and The Food Bank of Southern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. We strive to offer a wide variety of nutritious options to meet the needs of our community.
