Getting food from our pantry
The Isle of Wight Community Food Pantry is here to support our neighbors in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, and surrounding areas. Learn how you can receive free, nutritious food with ease and dignity.

Who can receive food?
Residents of neighboring communities are encouraged to participate in all distribution events. There are no strict eligibility requirements. We do ask a few straightforward questions to help us provide nutritious food for our community. We also ask you bring your own bags or a box to carry your items. This helps us ensure a smooth and eco-friendly distribution process.

Your step-by-step guide to receiving food
We operate as a mobile pantry, distributing food once a month at various locations within our nearby communities. Here is what you can expect:
- **Check our schedule:** Please visit our Facebook page on social media for monthly distribution dates and locations.
- **Arrive early:** For pre-bagged distributions, we recommend arriving fifteen minutes before the scheduled start time.
- **Form a line:** A volunteer will guide you on where to form a line.
- **Follow instructions:** Our volunteers will provide clear instructions on the process. If instructed to park your vehicle, it means you will have the opportunity to select your own items.
- **Bring your own:** Remember to bring your own bags or a box to carry your groceries.

What types of food do we offer?
Our food offerings vary each month, depending on the generous donations we receive. We typically provide a mix of non-perishable goods and fresh produce, thanks to our valuable partnerships with Food Lion and The Food Bank of Southern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. We strive to offer a wide variety of nutritious options to meet the needs of our community.
